An economic alternative is to undertake the Tour du Mont Blanc in bivouac to be closer to nature. In the evening, under the tent, you will fall asleep listening to the rustle of the torrents.
Just like the mountaineers of yesteryear, this Tour du Mont Blanc bivouac will take you through passes and alpine valleys, accompanied by a mule carrying your luggages.
We start our adventure in the Les Contamines Montjoie Nature Reserve along the ancient Roman road to Col du Bonhomme and then Bonhomme hut. Maybe we'll see ibexes grazing around before night...
After a beautiful descent in the Vallée des Glaciers, We enter in Italy through Col de la Seigne. Mont Blanc summit dominates the Val Veny, its glaciers and the limestones pyramids: Here is the realm of marmots in a mineral world.
A wonderful day facing the Mont Blanc chain and its amazing peaks and needles pointing to the sky like the impotent Peuterey. Down to Courmayeur we hardly can resist an appetizing italian ice cream!!
We follow the italian Ferret Valley before hiking up the beautiful trail under the Pré-de-Bar glacier. We'll enjoy the amazing view from Grand Col Ferret, border with Switzerland and descent in the alpine meadow of La Peule.
We walk through typical Valaisan's villages. A step back in a not-too-distant past to admire the traditional black chalets, their barn-stables surrounded by flowered gardens.
Through Bovine, following a trail in balcony dominating the Rhône valley.
Back to France through le Col de Balme. Here the view is spectacular! Aiguille Verte, Drus, Aiguilles de Chamonix... and the majestuous Mont Blanc!
