The 10-day self-guided Tour du Mont Blanc is perfect for independent hikers seeking to complete the full legendary circuit with just a daypack. Crossing France, Italy, and Switzerland, this trek takes you along scenic trails, from classic routes to alternative paths, for a fully autonomous adventure.
Accommodations in mountain huts are pre-booked, with baggage transport provided. Highlights include the Bertone, Elisabetta, and Bonhomme refuges, along with stunning viewpoints like the Saxe balcony and Chécroui pass. Each day reveals breathtaking alpine landscapes, from flowering meadows to sparkling glaciers.
Starting from Les Houches, enjoy a gradual ascent to the Voza pass, introducing you to mountain landscapes. Traverse below the sparkling Bionnassay glacier before descending to the Miage alpine pastures, framed by the majestic Miage domes.
Enter the Contamines-Montjoie Nature Reserve along an ancient Roman road. The climb to the Bonhomme pass reveals unspoiled landscapes and breathtaking views of the Beaufortain mountains.
Cross the Seigne pass into Italy, traversing a striking mineral landscape with limestone pyramids and glaciers. Elisabetta refuge awaits, offering stunning views of the surrounding peaks.
Explore the Veni valley, passing the Miage Glacier-fed Combal Lake. Enjoy a break in Courmayeur to sample local ice cream before climbing to Bertone refuge, with its splendid view of Mont Blanc's Italian side.
Trek across the Ferret valley along a high path, with spectacular views of the Grandes Jorasses and the south Mont Blanc peaks, ending the day at the peaceful Elena refuge.
Accompanied by the Pré de Bar Glacier, ascend the Grand Col Ferret, the day's highest point. Crossing into Switzerland, enjoy a gentle descent to the charming village of La Fouly.
A relaxing day through the Valais region, passing through alpine meadows and traditional chalets. Encounter the famed Hérens cows and flower-filled village gardens as you approach Lake Champex.
Choose between the alpine Arpette Window, offering a spectacular view of the Trient Glacier, or the gentler Bovine trail. Either route reveals the beauty of the glacier, one of the trek’s highlights.
Climb the Balme pass, re-entering France with sweeping views of the Mont Blanc massif. Descend through the Charamillon meadows at the base of the Tour glacier.
The final leg leads through the Aiguilles Rouges Nature Reserve to Lac Blanc, renowned for its panoramic Mont Blanc views. A gentle cable car descent to Les Praz concludes this memorable journey.
